Field notes

Runways, taxiways, and terminal loops form a distinct geometric patch within the Dallas–Fort Worth urban landscape. This oblique photograph from the International Space Station records the airport in May 2006.

The bright roof of Terminal D, which opened in 2005, stands out from the older terminals. The viewing angle also makes sunlight reflect strongly from nearby North Lake. This is an archival view of the airport’s footprint, rather than a current traffic map.
