ISS
Amateur radio aboard the International Space Station: voice, packet and scheduled image transmissions. Modes and availability can change.
ARISS station status ↗Orbits. Passes. Radio from above.
The station overhead. The signal on the horizon.
Track the ISS and a small selection of amateur-radio satellites. Watch the ground track, then check whether the radio is actually operating.
ABOVE THE HORIZON
Choose a satellite using Select beneath the map.
The track moves automatically while the view is running.
Map, orbit calculations and pass predictions: N2YO. Positions are calculated from orbital elements, not live GPS telemetry. The provider estimates the observer’s location from the visitor’s IP address; verify it in the full tracker before using pass times. Compact screens show the map without the pass table. The provider’s privacy and cookie policies apply.
The circle is a geometric horizon footprint, not a guarantee of radio coverage. For local pass planning, check the observer location, time zone, elevation and current satellite status in the source tools.
THE SHORTLIST
Orbit tracking is always separate
from the radio’s operating status.
Amateur radio aboard the International Space Station: voice, packet and scheduled image transmissions. Modes and availability can change.
ARISS station status ↗SaudiSat-1C, an amateur FM repeater satellite. Check AMSAT’s operating notes and recent reception reports before a pass.
FM satellite reference ↗Fox-1B / RadFxSat. AMSAT’s battery guidance calls for sunlight-only access; seeing it on the map does not mean the repeater is available.
Check operating restrictions ↗DOSAAF-85 carries a linear amateur-radio transponder. Follow the frequency reference and current reports for operating details.
Linear satellite reference ↗BEFORE THE PASS
The map predicts where a spacecraft is. Operator schedules, power, antenna geometry and your horizon determine what you can hear.
Read current AMSAT reception reports ↗N2YO propagates orbital elements forward in time to draw the current position. The spacecraft is not sending rack.org a live location. Accuracy depends on the age and quality of the orbit data.N2YO: tracking data and limitations ↗
The tracker includes passes that are not optically visible. A useful radio pass does not require a visible spacecraft. Local pass times still require a correct observer location.AMSAT pass predictions ↗
Amateur satellites may use schedules, switch modes or have power restrictions. The current-status links open the providers’ latest information; the cards above are reference notes, not live availability indicators.AMSAT live status ↗
