Preparedness desk
A global country directory, reviewed household guidance and dated publications from connected official sources.
Preparedness, with a paper trail.
More than six countries publish household-readiness advice. This desk now has 249 country and territory entries, 30 reviewed guidance references and direct warning-authority records for 197 entries.
Some campaigns address everyday disruptions; others explicitly include conflict or civil defence. Follow each authority’s stated scope. An old kit checklist, a newly launched campaign and an incident-specific instruction should not all acquire the same “prepare now” headline.

On 22 October 2026, the Cabinet Office announced the Be Ready campaign. The announcement says household advice has been published since May 2024 and much of it remains unchanged. It describes a three-year campaign, rather than a new national emergency order.

The Commission’s preparedness strategy was adopted in March 2025 and supports guidance on the first 72 hours of a disruption. The EU is a regional reference here; it is not counted as an extra country.
